In April, we opened the wlthy MCP endpoint so any Model Context Protocol client could reach the ledger — Claude Desktop, Cursor, Grok, whatever the market shipped next. It was a developer-set win.
The install still asked for a JSON file, a Bearer token pasted in the right corner of the right screen, and a bit of patience. Today that friction is gone. OpenAI has approved wlthy for the ChatGPT app store, and the install is one click.
If you already use ChatGPT — Free, Plus, or Team — you can hand it your wlthy account and ask about your global wealth in plain English. No config file. No mcp-remote shim. No token dance. OAuth happens on OpenAI’s side; the session token is minted and scoped for you.
Why This Actually Changes Something
The MCP release last quarter was a real feature, but it wasn’t a mass feature. A meaningful share of wlthy Black-tier customers had never opened Claude Desktop and had no plan to. They lived inside the ChatGPT tab. What they wanted wasn’t more protocol — it was a way to ask ChatGPT “what’s my exposure to European equities right now” and get a number back, live, from their own ledger. The app store listing closes that gap. Every ChatGPT account, on any device, is a supported client now.
The Install Is One Click
You go to chatgpt.com/apps/wlthy, sign in, and confirm the OAuth prompt. That’s the setup. Behind the scenes, ChatGPT completes the handshake with wlthy, receives a read-only session token bound to the install, and hands it to the model whenever you invoke wlthy inside a chat. When you’re done, you can revoke access from ChatGPT’s Apps panel or from your wlthy Settings → API screen. Both surfaces show every call in the audit log.
Ask Anything. See Real Numbers.
The same ten read-only tools that Claude and Cursor use are wired into the ChatGPT app. Try:
- “What’s my net worth in EUR right now, and how did it move this month?”
- “List the assets returning under 5% since I bought them.”
- “Which country do I have the most real estate exposure in — and how much of it is debt-financed?”
- “Show me my crypto allocation and the top three holdings.”
Every answer traces to a specific line in your ledger. If the model quotes a figure, it came from your data, at the timestamp printed on the response.
Read-Only. Every Time. No Exceptions.
The ChatGPT app runs under exactly the same permission model as the MCP token: read-only by design, no money-movement surface anywhere in wlthy, no way for the assistant to change a single field. The install carries no scope for writes because none exists. Encrypted at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit, Swiss data residency, full audit trail — the same posture that Black-tier households already run under. Nothing shifts because ChatGPT is on the other end of the wire.
It Sits Alongside Claude, Cursor and Grok
The ChatGPT listing doesn’t replace the MCP endpoint. Claude Desktop still gets its config block. Cursor still reads its own JSON. Grok users still paste the URL into grok.com/connectors. Every path lands at the same wlthy ledger with the same permissions. If your household runs on three different assistants — one person in ChatGPT, one in Claude, one in Cursor — everyone sees the same numbers. The whole point of the Wealth OS is that the assistant layer isn’t the source of truth. Your ledger is.
What This Means for HNW Households
For most high-net-worth users, the gap between “I have a private wealth tracker” and “I can ask my AI about it” has been a friction wall. That wall is down. Ask ChatGPT for a country breakdown before a call with your advisor. Ask for a currency drift note before a wire. Ask for a five-year real-return check before you buy the second property. The answers come from the same ledger you’ve been feeding all year, with the same institutional Wealth Statement PDF sitting behind it.
Try It in ChatGPT Today
If you’re on the Black plan, open wlthy on ChatGPT and ask your first question in the next two minutes. If you’re not on wlthy yet, start the 3-day free trial and the ChatGPT app is unlocked the moment your account activates.
Say goodbye to the JSON file. Welcome to your wealth, one prompt away.
